About the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Intestinal Bowel Disease (IBD) clinical team at Mount Sinai Hospital. This is a full-time, day shift position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Summary
As a Licensed Practical Nurse on our IBD clinical team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to individuals with complex medical needs. You will be responsible for administering medications, performing routine tasks such as suctioning and urinary catheterizations, and preparing patients for surgery, diagnostic tests, and examinations. Your duties will also include collecting, labeling, and processing specimens accurately, as well as setting up and delivering intravenous equipment and solutions through peripheral access devices. Additionally, you will be expected to report pertinent observations, treatments, medications, incidents, and accidents associated with patients to the Registered Professional Nurse and record same on appropriate documents.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Key responsibilities of this role include:
1. Delivering nursing care in structured and routine situations free of scientific complexity.
2. Assisting with activities of daily living.
3. Administering treatments and routine tasks such as suctioning and urinary catheterizations.
4. Preparing patients for surgery, diagnostic tests, and examinations.
5. Administering medications within the scope of practice. Collecting, labeling, and processing specimens accurately.
6. Setting up and delivering intravenous equipment and solutions through peripheral access devices.
7. Reporting pertinent observations, treatments, medications, incidents, and accidents associated with patients to the Registered Professional Nurse and recording same on appropriate documents.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York. Additionally, they should have experience working in a healthcare setting and possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. A successful completion of the required New York State Department of Health LPN IV Therapy Initial Program is also required. Preferred qualifications include experience in a hospital setting and a strong understanding of IV therapy procedures. Applicants should also demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
