About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at PENN Entertainment, Inc. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food products, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency in every dish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the kitchen team, ensuring efficient and effective food preparation and service.
  • Develop and implement new menu items and recipes, staying up-to-date with culinary trends and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative and delicious dishes, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies and equipment as needed, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure excellent performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and inventory levels, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Develop and implement food safety and sanitation procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create and implement special menus and promotions, ensuring exceptional customer experience and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a minimum of one year related experience and/or training.
  • Current certification for ServSafe or ability to successfully pass the ServSafe class within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to prepare, read, and comprehend documents, write reports and correspondence, and speak and communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts, perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs, and count money.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, state, or federal law.
