Position Overview
The Health Education Resource Office (HERO) serves as a vital resource for student wellness, fostering partnerships that encourage innovative strategies for achieving optimal health and enhancing academic and professional success.

This student marketing role involves supporting the Communications Coordinators in various marketing initiatives aimed at promoting health-related services, programs, and events. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional creativity, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment.

As part of this position, the incumbent may encounter confidential information that must be managed in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, as well as university policies regarding its use and disclosure.

HERO integrates technology into all facets of its operations. The incumbent is expected to become proficient with the necessary computer hardware and software tools relevant to this role.

Additionally, the incumbent must familiarize themselves with and adhere to the Watkins Health Center Customer Experience Plan to ensure positive interactions and outcomes with both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities
  • 35% - Assist Communications Coordinators with diverse marketing projects to promote health-related services, programs, and events.
  • 25% - Create both print and digital marketing materials.
  • 25% - Develop engaging social media content.
  • 5% - Produce content for the organization’s website.
  • 5% - Propose innovative tactics and ideas to stay aligned with emerging trends among college students.
  • 5% - Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  1. Availability to work in 3-hour time blocks.
  2. Strong organizational, communication, and creative skills.
  3. High proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other graphic design software.
  4. During the term of appointment, the student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Current sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student.
  2. Eligibility for work-study programs.
  3. Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  4. Background in photography.
  5. Familiarity with medical and health terminology.
