Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a psychiatrist to provide direct patient care to students in accordance with established standards and medical ethics.
  • Assess student problems, prescribe medications, and refer for ongoing treatment as indicated.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and thorough counseling records.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelors degree in Nursing and NYS Nurse Practitioner license in appropriate specialty with prescription privileges.
  • Preferred: Masters degree in Nursing.
  • Required: 4 years relevant experience in ambulatory setting including 2 years as Nurse Practitioner or an equivalent combination.
  • Preferred: Outpatient experience in counseling and prescribing with a student or young adult population.

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to meet flexible work schedule.
