Join Our Team as a Veterinary Assistant

At BoosterPet, LLC, we're passionate about providing exceptional care to our furry friends. As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play a vital role in our medical team, ensuring the highest level of care and service for every pet that walks through our doors.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing quality medical care
  • Triage and complete vital signs on behalf of our DVMs
  • Support urgent care services and wellness programs as needed
  • Complete detailed medical records with thorough medical history
  • Educate animal owners on pet care and health
  • Liaise with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure continuity of patient care
  • Follow all safety protocols to ensure the safety of pets, clients, and team members
  • Administer medications and vaccines prescribed by a veterinarian
  • Maintain medication clerk licensure and obtain/verify medications
  • Perform phlebotomy duties, and provide intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections
  • Restrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to pets, and ensures the safety of pets and people
  • Assist at the front desk/kiosk and greet clients/patients upon entry
  • Answer phones and make appointments as needed
  • Administer first aid for emergencies
  • Help technicians induce/monitor and recover anesthetic patients
  • Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
  • Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, maintaining equipment, and complying with legal regulations
  • Train new employees on standards of operations
  • Safely drive to various locations in the greater metropolitan Seattle area to support BoosterPet clinics as staffing needs arise
Requirements:
  • Experience is required
  • Medication Clerk license preferred, will help you obtain if not currently licensed
  • Willingness to go with the flow to help a growing company succeed in both conventional and novel ways
