Quality Assurance Plant Manager

As a key member of the management team, reporting directly to the FSQRA Director, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality at our facility. Your expertise will guide the establishment of best practices and ensure compliance with quality protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee adherence to good manufacturing practices among all plant staff, emphasizing proper waste management and personal hygiene.
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance teams to instill a culture of Food Safety and Quality on the production floor.
- Manage timelines and critical milestones related to the Food Safety and Quality Improvement Plan and other relevant metrics.
- Evaluate and report on quality and food safety challenges, including consumer feedback, and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements from agencies such as USDA, FDA, and CFIA, as well as internal safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Act as a liaison for local regulatory inspectors and food safety officials visiting the facility.
- Lead initiatives related to food safety and quality programs, including HACCP, SQF certification, recall procedures, environmental monitoring, and pest control.
- Facilitate communication on technical and quality assurance matters between operations, RQI, and sales/marketing departments.
- Assist corporate teams with quality assurance issues involving vendors.
- Supervise product quality during the introduction of new products, ensuring the application of relevant MOPD and CQV tools.
- Own the FS&Q pillar within the Conagra Performance System, utilizing continuous improvement methodologies to identify opportunities and develop enhancement plans.
- Lead the processes for Regulatory, Customer (including SQF), and Internal Audits, including the development of responses and corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Food Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in quality assurance leadership.
- Proficient in monitoring and measuring process controls, conducting audits, and managing food manufacturing processes, with a solid understanding of HACCP and SSOP regulations.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to apply statistical methods for process capability and predictive quality.
- Experience in food manufacturing or a related industry.
