Join our team at Astrix Inc, a global leader in the medical device industry, as a Product Engineer. This exciting 2-year contract opportunity will allow you to work on cutting-edge development projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with R&D teams to develop and implement new product designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, component qualification, and manage prototype builds to ensure timely and cost-effective product launches.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and product costs, ensuring seamless production readiness.
- Support product transfer projects, identifying and qualifying alternate materials and components to mitigate risks and ensure obsolescence.
- Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to maintain adequate component supplies and qualify tooling and equipment as needed.
- Address component or product quality issues, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, providing clear and concise updates on project progress.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- Up to 1 year of experience in an engineering or scientific R&D or manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to learn and retain complex processes quickly.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Root cause analysis experience and knowledge of medical device industry regulations.
