Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Opto-Mechanical Engineer to drive the development of high-performance opto-mechanical subsystems for a new tool platform at Applied Materials.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of innovative opto-mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement opto-mechanical concepts, including tolerancing, alignment, and automated mechanisms, to ensure high-performance imaging and/or illumination optics.
  • Lead and execute engineering projects, spearhead research and development of new technologies, and participate in all aspects of the design cycle from specification development to integration.
  • Develop and document complex engineering designs, specifications, and layouts/schematics, and review engineering documentation and processes.
  • Interface with internal and external customers regarding significantly complex engineering issues to address customer High Value Problems (HVP) for a range of products.

Requirements:

  • A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in opto-mechanical design, precision mechanical engineering, and mechanism design.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, FEA analysis, and high-precision optical design implementations.
  • Familiarity with thermal and dynamic stability, metrology, and specification derivations.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this role is $160,000 - $220,000 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
