Pediatric Developmental Specialist Independent Contractor

Job Summary

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Developmental Specialist to join our team of professionals providing Early Intervention home-based services to patients birth to age 3 in Allegheny County and/or Butler County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement EI services according to the child's IFSP
  • Provide developmental services to patients of all programs and external contracts
  • Ensure required documentation is completed for all patients within specific timeframes
  • Collaborate with other developmental specialists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech therapists
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in child development, early intervention, early childhood education, early childhood special education, special education, or family studies
  2. 3-5 years of experience working directly with children and families
  3. Capacity to develop proficiency in the performance of various treatment protocols
  4. Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to effectively communicate and work with all staff
Functional Requirements
  1. Ability to perform developmental services a minimum of eight hours per day
  2. Ability to sustain moderate physical activities including but not limited to getting on and off dynamic therapy equipment
  3. Ability to communicate information in a professional and courteous manner with other staff and families
