Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Advise clients on regulatory compliance matters related to oil and gas exploration, production, and transportation, including environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and land use issues.
  • Contract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate a variety of oil and gas agreements, including leases, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, processing agreements, and pipeline contracts.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government laws and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Active Bar License: Active bar license in the state in which you reside.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on oil and gas law, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department setting.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws and regulations governing the oil and gas industry, including the Mineral Leasing Act, Clean Air Act, and Natural Gas Act.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream Experience: Experience advising clients on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions and projects.
  • Excellent Communication and Analytical Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively advise clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Energy Compliance Experience: Experience with energy commodities with an emphasis on pipelines and terminals, and experience counseling on energy compliance matters.
Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $155,000 and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401K, and more.
