General Dentist Opportunity with Aspen Medical

Aspen Medical is seeking a skilled General Dentist to join our team in providing medical services to UN sponsored Kenyan Peacekeepers and US Government staff at a field hospital in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Job Summary

This is a deployed, rotational contract with a 3 month on, 1 month off rotation cycle. The team will be based in a secure, purpose-built camp and hospital facility in Port au Prince, Haiti, and all service delivery requirements will be conducted within the confines of that facility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide general dentistry services to patients in a field hospital setting
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality medical care
  • Conduct emergency and non-emergency dental procedures, including orofacial pain management and dental implants
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex medical needs
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in general dentistry
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a dental school approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Dental and Auxiliary Educational Programs of the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada of the Canadian Dental Association with either a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree or a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree
  • Successful completion of an approved residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience as a dentist actively involved in treating medically compromised patients
  • American Board of General Dentistry (ABGD) Board-eligible or ABGD Board Certified required
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience post-qualification to include experience in general dentistry and clinical experience in orofacial pain, emergency and non-emergency dental procedures, dental implants, and a strong surgical skill set
  • Current, valid certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Fluency in Haitian Creole and/or French is highly desired
