Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Membership Services Staff to join our team at the Laguna Niguel Family YMCA. As a key member of our membership team, you will be responsible for generating new membership prospects, converting program members, and providing exceptional customer service to our members and prospective members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews and facility tours with prospective members to promote membership growth and retention.
  • Engage members and manage recruitment and retention tracking and reporting.
  • Identify, track, and follow up with prospective members through branch promotions, software reports, and internal/external messaging.
  • Generate new prospective members through collaboration with the Program Director and marketing department.
  • Handle all new and follow-up phone calls regarding facility membership in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform member relations duties, including handling complaints and inquiries, processing new memberships and monthly fee payments.
  • Follow check-in and service procedures, cash management and receipting procedures, and handle telephone reception.
  • Perform computer data entry and retrieval, maintain the Service Desk in a neat and organized fashion, and stock work areas with forms and stationery supplies.
  • Be proactive with information and knowledge of all program information and changes, and keep the front lobby area clean and tidy.
  • Follow and enforce safety standards and other policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • H.S. diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years experience in sales, marketing, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications required.
  • Knowledge of customer service, excellent communication skills, and PC ability required.
  • YMCA membership or operations experience preferred.
