Position Overview:
This role is a hybrid position, requiring full-time office presence during the initial three months. The Construction Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of contractor services related to construction for distribution operations, engineering, and maintenance across multiple states. This position is pivotal in fostering and maintaining essential relationships with contractors to facilitate the issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for various projects. The manager will also focus on building a proficient contractor resource pool, assessing contractor capabilities, and identifying opportunities for enhancing contractor efficiency and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Procurement team to secure contractor resources, from the initiation of RFPs to contract negotiations and language development.
- Administer contracts, which includes:
- Updating contract language in coordination with Procurement as necessary (e.g., changes in safety regulations or processes).
- Reviewing and approving invoices.
- Monitoring contractor resource availability.
- Evaluating contractor performance in areas such as safety and environmental compliance.
- Preparing and submitting monthly Un-Vouchered Liabilities (UVLs).
- Establish and nurture relationships with contractors.
- Facilitate interactions among Procurement, Legal, Operations, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Manage the contract database to ensure accurate tracking of all contract-related documents, including RFPs, addendums, and change orders.
- Analyze contractor resource levels and contribute to the development of a comprehensive contractor strategy.
- Coordinate all activities related to Distribution Operations RFPs, including reviews, submissions, and matrix development, ensuring all technical specifications are up-to-date.
- Ensure that contractual agreements and procedures are established to support logistics and resource acquisition for emergency operations.
- Oversee the invoice review and payment process for Emergency Response Preparedness (ERP) to ensure timely and prudent payments following storm events.
- Assist in coordinating the delivery of materials and equipment for all procured resources.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the assigned team members.
Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
- In-depth understanding of transmission and distribution challenges within the electric utility sector.
- Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in data management.
- Proven experience in team management and effective collaboration across organizational boundaries.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: MS in Engineering or MBA.
- A minimum of ten (10) years in transmission, distribution, field service design, installation, or in Purchasing/Contracts Management.
- No specific licenses required.
Compensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program, with an annual salary range for this position between $131,130.00 and $145,700.00, plus incentives. Salary will be determined based on experience. For a comprehensive overview of benefits, please refer to the career site.
Working Conditions:
Availability for emergency restoration assignments is required. Travel between states may be necessary.
