Role Summary:

As a Process Engineer at Sterling Engineering Inc., you will be instrumental in enhancing our production efficiency. Your responsibilities will encompass managing tooling processes, driving improvements in manufacturing practices, and ensuring streamlined operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of Mold Maintenance Technicians, assessing their performance and identifying areas for development.
  • Work collaboratively with different departments to maximize the longevity of mold components and oversee the mold repair initiatives.
  • Manage injection mold tooling projects, from conceptual design through to fabrication and deployment.
  • Engage in cross-departmental teams to resolve product quality and production challenges related to molding and assembly.
  • Utilize basic CAD and PowerPoint skills for effective communication with external mold suppliers.
  • Assist in the validation of new equipment and tooling, including the preparation and execution of validation documentation, and updating existing mold work instructions.
  • Monitor tooling from removal to installation, aiding in the removal, setup, and repair processes as required.
  • Contribute to the oversight of the preventative maintenance program, ensuring proper execution and reporting.
  • Provide technical support to Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations in all tasks performed.
  • Support the integration of new products, tooling, and processes; investigate tooling and process challenges; and provide recommendations as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies, training protocols, and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution is preferred, or six to eight years of relevant managerial experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in injection molding is essential.
