The International African American Museum seeks a skilled Media Manager to coordinate and execute communication and news strategies to promote the museum's events and stories. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Manager will work closely with the Public Relations Manager and Social Media Manager to enhance the museum's visibility.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement news plans for exhibitions and events through various channels.
- Collaborate with IAAM leadership to enhance the museum's public image and reputation.
- Design strategic messaging to highlight the African American journey in the U.S.
- Establish an annual communications plan and editorial calendar.
- Partner with the Convention and Visitors Bureau for press events to increase the museum's presence.
- Provide support at major museum events as assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
- 5+ years of marketing experience required.
- Ability to manage brand voice and editorial strategy.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent decision-making abilities.
- Capability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
