As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining existing Employee Benefit accounts while uncovering opportunities for increasing business.

Responsibilities
  1. Manages an Employee Benefits book of insurance business, while acting with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making.
  2. Provides professional, courteous service to our EB clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues, resulting in a rate of account retention that meets or exceeds expectations.
  3. Provides a high level of support to EB Producers in obtaining, maintaining, and expanding business.
  4. May also be responsible for account rounding and the development of new business as appropriate and in accordance with standard practices, policies, and procedures.
  5. Oversees the preparation and implementation of all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts.
  6. Acquires understanding of clients' insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability.
  7. Stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact their clients.
  8. Makes appropriate recommendations to clients in response to those changes independent of manager approval.
  9. Acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve.
  10. May also negotiate with underwriters and carriers.
  11. Troubleshoots claims and billing issues.
  12. Responsible for overall retention of accounts in assigned book of business.
  13. Develops new business from existing accounts and assigned leads and contributes to meeting departmental production goals.
  14. Identifies and follows-up on cross-selling opportunities when appropriate.
  15. Manages, organizes, and conducts client meetings when necessary.
  16. Appropriately documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives and updates all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems when necessary.
  17. Ensures the accuracy of data in those systems.
  18. Prepares reports for management as required.
  19. Travels on company business as required.
  20. Supports, mentors, and trains Account Representatives, as necessary.
  21. Attends industry-related continuing education training and courses.
Qualifications
  1. Life & Health insurance license.
  2. A high school diploma required; some college preferred.
  3. Above-average telephone techniques and the ability to communicate effectively with prospective and existing clients, as well as other staff members.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  5. Ability and willingness to utilize company's computer system and software.
  6. Strong typing skills with an ability to compose clear and concise letters.
  7. Ability to understand policy forms and coverage descriptions.
  8. Organizational skills required.
  9. Willingness to attend educational classes desired.
  10. High attention to detail essential.
