Position Summary

The Rehabilitation Aide will support physical and occupational therapists in delivering rehabilitative services to participants. This role includes providing participants with information regarding their appointments and schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in scheduling, transporting, and lifting patients as necessary for rehabilitation services.
  • Document and communicate any scheduling conflicts with participants.
  • Distribute schedules and relevant information to the appropriate team members as directed.
  • Conduct maintenance programs with patients to help sustain their functional abilities.
  • Support the physical therapist (PT) and PT assistant with treatments, including ambulation, range of motion exercises, and application of hot/cold packs.
  • Assist the occupational therapist (OT) and OT assistant with treatments, focusing on activities of daily living (ADL) and feeding programs.
  • Support the speech-language pathologist in treatments, including feeding groups and memory enhancement activities.
  • Maintain rehabilitative equipment as required.
  • Ensure the therapy areas are clean and organized, including setup and cleanup of rehabilitation spaces and supplies.
  • Stay informed about the medical and physical statuses of participants.
  • Participate in in-service training and staff meetings as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid BLS certification is mandatory upon hire.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with elderly and frail populations is required.
  • Experience in a rehabilitation setting is preferred.
Additional Skills and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in composition, typing, and proofreading.
  • Ability to interpret various forms of instructions, whether written, oral, or diagrammatic.
  • Familiarity with working with elderly and frail populations.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally and ethically.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

Neighborhood Healthcare provides a comprehensive benefits package, including partially company-paid medical, dental, and vision plans, generous vacation time, holidays, sick/personal time, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), a 403b retirement plan, optional health and wellness events, and more.

Compensation: $21.00 - $25.75 per hour, based on experience.
