Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Engineer to support our ambitious growth objectives by assisting fleets in their journey towards environmental sustainability. This role will serve as a key technical representative for the Vector fuel system technology, requiring a thorough understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal system performance, providing feedback to the engineering team regarding necessary design adjustments, and supporting the Field Operations team in the installation and troubleshooting of our systems. This position involves significant travel and demands a self-directed individual capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between engineering and field service teams, ensuring all technical documentation and customer-specific requests are current and accurate.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, responding promptly to engineering inquiries.
  • Conduct diagnostics and perform root cause analysis on malfunctioning components.
  • Develop expertise in the Vector system and its associated electrical, software, and hardware components.
  • Ensure accurate system installations according to customer specifications.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for installation and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers via various communication channels.
  • Document installation and maintenance procedures for internal and external use.
  • Research and resolve technical issues using both internal and external resources.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy automotive engineering and diagnostics.
  • Associate's degree in engineering technology or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems with proven troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed schematics and follow complex instructions.
  • Proficient in communication and computer skills, including MS Office and/or GSuite.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively under pressure.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, climbing, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in diverse environments, including office, outdoor, and shop settings.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
  • Availability for significant domestic travel.
  • Flexibility in work hours as needed.
