Tooling Engineer Position Summary
  • The Tooling Engineer is responsible for managing tooling and tooling build timelines to ensure high-quality components are produced on time and cost-effectively. The engineer is expected to leverage the latest technologies to continuously improve our product, meeting customer expectations.

Required Skills/Experience:
Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience in the automotive industry. Familiarity with metal fabricating, assembly processes, and related tooling. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Community College graduate with a technical or Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification. Knowledge of progressive dies, transfer dies, blank forming, and tube forming. Advanced GD&T. Demonstrated planning and system implementation ability.

Duties:
Ensure that budgets and objectives are achieved and/or exceeded with respect to tooling. Responsible for forecasting and budgeting related to tooling. Coordinate with other departments and facilities the implementation, development, and improvement of new and old programs' tooling requirements. Coordinate the fabrication of all required tooling and equipment to support old and new programs. Coordinate and implement engineering changes on new and existing tooled programs. Develop and maintain a tooling tracker and report accordingly. Act as a technical contact for vendors on tooling issues.
