Job Summary
The College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS) is seeking applications for one or more full-time Senior Research Faculty positions. These roles are fixed-term, non-tenure track, with the potential for renewal based on performance and departmental needs.
The selected candidate will develop and sustain a robust research program that contributes significantly to the field and secures ongoing external funding. The incumbent is expected to achieve national recognition through their research endeavors, which should lead to publications that enhance the understanding of earth, ocean, and atmospheric sciences. Opportunities to advise students may arise, and teaching responsibilities may be assigned with prior approval, limited to one course per academic year. Additional duties may be assigned by the Dean as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
Research Development (90%)
Establish and maintain a distinguished program of scholarly research, evidenced by national and international recognition and external funding. Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences to disseminate research outcomes. Supervise research staff and students as necessary.
Grant Writing and Publications (5%)
Prepare and submit proposals to secure funding for research initiatives. Manage and oversee external funding received from successful grant applications.
Service Engagement (5%)
Participate in service activities within the academic community and contribute to educational equity and the advancement of diverse perspectives.
Qualifications
- PhD in Earth Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of post-doctoral experience.
- Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience securing external funding.
- Commitment to promoting educational equity in a diverse environment.
Working Conditions
This position is designated as critical or security-sensitive, requiring a successful criminal history check. Candidates must self-report any convictions as per university policy.
