Position Overview:
Scarlet Oaks Retirement Community is currently seeking qualified part-time day shift (7am-3pm) and full-time night shift (11pm-7am) Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).
The primary responsibility of the LPN is to deliver direct nursing care to our residents while overseeing the daily activities of our nursing assistants.
This oversight must comply with all relevant Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, as well as directives from the Director of Nursing or Nurse Supervisor to ensure the highest quality of care is consistently provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide the daily functions of nursing assistants in accordance with current regulations and guidelines applicable to Assisted Living Facilities.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the attending physician.
- Prepare written and verbal reports/recommendations regarding the activities of your shift as required.
- Ensure an adequate supply of medications, supplies, and equipment is available to meet the nursing needs of residents, reporting any shortages to the nursing supervisor.
- Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary, following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate narcotic records for your shift.
- Exhibit proficiency in nursing practice and engage in relevant professional development programs to maintain competency.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited institution.
- A current, unencumbered, active LPN license and CPR certification.
- Knowledgeable in nursing and medical practices, as well as state, federal, and regulatory requirements related to long-term care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to interact tactfully with a diverse team of professionals, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
