Join Our Team as a Senior Veterinarian

At National Medical Association, we're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Veterinarian to join our research team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of cardiovascular disease and its mechanisms.

About the Role

We're looking for a veterinarian with a strong background in laboratory animal medicine and a passion for research. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting large animal surgeries, ensuring daily animal care, and providing post-operative care. You'll also be responsible for maintaining the health of large animal cases and collaborating with various departments within the School of Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct large animal surgeries and ensure daily animal care
  • Provide post-operative care and maintain the health of large animal cases
  • Collaborate with various departments within the School of Medicine
  • Contribute to the discovery of important medical breakthroughs
Requirements
  • DVM degree or equivalent
  • Ability to perform technical procedures in a timely and accurate manner
  • In-depth knowledge of veterinary practice related to laboratory animal medicine
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Understanding of pre- and post-surgical care of laboratory animals
  • Familiarity with IACUC protocols, specifically regarding animal care, analgesia, anesthesia, surgical and non-surgical procedures, and euthanasia
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations governing the use and care of laboratory animals
