Job Summary:

The Hospital Medical Leader will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality veterinary care to patients, leading a team of veterinarians and support staff, and ensuring that all medical procedures are conducted in a safe and compassionate manner. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about improving the lives of animals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate, quality preventive and basic care to patients, overseeing all aspects of veterinary care during a clinic day.
  • Lead a team of veterinarians and support staff to ensure that all medical procedures are conducted in a safe and compassionate manner.
  • Develop and implement medical protocols and procedures to ensure high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Senior Director of Operations to ensure that all medical services are delivered in accordance with ASPCA standards.
  • Provide medical consultations and support to internal ASPCA departments as needed.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter.
  • Minimum three years of veterinary experience in small animal medicine and surgery.
  • Previous people management experience strongly preferred.
  • Fear Free Veterinary certification required within 60 days of hire.
