About the Position

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our dynamic team of water resource engineers and scientists. As a leader in our Water Resources group, you will assist clients in developing strategic, cost-effective, and forward-thinking solutions to their riverine and coastal flooding, ecological restoration, and water resources challenges.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, ranging from site to watershed scale, for a variety of private and public sector clients. Our team is growing across New England, and we are excited to be on the cutting edge of shaping the practice of resilient water resources solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Leading multi-disciplinary projects with hydrologic, hydraulic, and resiliency focus, including interaction with staff and clients
  • Conducting hydrologic, hydraulic, and scour studies for riverine and coastal environments using current modeling software
  • Using analysis to identify and design flood, scour, and resiliency improvements, including both hardened features and nature-based solutions
  • Performing FEMA "no-rise" analyses and assisting clients with FEMA map revisions
  • Developing technical reports, design plans, construction documents, and specifications for water resources-related projects
  • Leading the construction administration for water resource projects
  • Working with our integrated team to evaluate permit requirements and support the development of permit applications
  • Attending and presenting at meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders
  • Leading the development of project proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates
  • Mentoring and expanding the technical resources of our staff
Requirements
  • BS in Civil/Environmental engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 11-15 years of professional water resources engineering and analysis experience required
  • PE license required
