As an Infrastructure Engineering Specialist at JRC, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the lifecycle management, acquisition, design, and construction oversight of sustainable and environmentally responsible facilities and infrastructure.
  • Supporting conventional and moderately complex engineering tasks, utilizing engineering methodologies and analyses relevant to your discipline (mechanical, electrical, or civil).
  • Assisting the Government Project Manager in the planning, programming, design, execution, and documentation of facility projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with technical engineering standards and project scope.
  • Facilitating the distribution of action items following discussions and meetings with project stakeholders, including the Program Element, Senior Project Engineer, and Contractors.
  • Providing technical engineering insights for design and construction on various projects.
  • Contributing to all technical engineering aspects of the facilities planning, design, and construction processes.
  • Participating in bid evaluations to assess supplier capabilities and availability.
  • Developing procurement work scopes, schedules, and budgets for technical components of the program while monitoring progress.
  • Coordinating with Procurement and Subcontractors to streamline procurement processes and oversee equipment installation.
  • Tracking and monitoring critical milestones to ensure the successful delivery of large, complex design and construction projects.
  • Assisting with project deliverables and budget management to identify and address current or potential project challenges through engineering techniques.
  • Engaging in decision-making meetings with Government representatives and project management teams.
  • Coordinating facilities engineering tasks with government clients, host installations, Architectural & Engineering firms, and executing agencies.

What you bring to the role:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline).
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in construction engineering or a similar field.
  • Active DoD Security Clearance at the SECRET level or higher.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to travel OCONUS between 10-15% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Japanese.
