Company Background
Delta Star specializes in providing comprehensive power solutions for utility companies across North America. Our offerings include the production of medium-power transformers, mobile transformers, mobile electrical substations, trailers, and unitized substations. We cater to various utility applications, including power and distribution, transmission voltages, system ties, and automatic voltage regulation, as well as industrial applications. Our Field Service business unit ensures that transformers and mobile units maintain optimal performance through extensive engineering, testing, maintenance services, and parts supply.
Key Responsibilities:- Setup and calibration of winding machines and tensioning devices.
- Fabrication of helical and disk coils for high and low voltage applications, including tertiary and regulating voltages.
- Conduct material inspections, precise measurements using micrometers, and documentation on engineering specification sheets.
- Operate various machinery such as paper shears, press brakes, band saws, and electric shearers with minimal supervision.
- Make precise adjustments to machinery for cutting different material sizes and producing insulation components like lead pads and core window insulation.
- A minimum of six (6) months of relevant manufacturing experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to utilize measurement instruments such as squares, micrometers, and tape measures.
- Competence in reading, writing, and understanding simple instructions.
- Commitment to following safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret technical blueprints.
- Positive attitude and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strong attendance record.
- Physical capability to regularly lift and move up to 70 pounds with assistance.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this position require frequent walking, talking, and manual dexterity. Employees may need to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as part of their duties. The role may involve lifting and moving items weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally. No specific vision requirements are necessary for this position.
