LPN, Occupational Health Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our occupational health team at Kaiser Permanente. As an LPN in this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality patient care and providing support to clinicians and other healthcare team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect patient care activities, including routine and self-limiting health conditions.
  • Perform clinical tasks and procedures under the direction of a clinician, within the scope of your professional training and individual competency.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information in electronic medical records.
  • Provide health teaching and education on routine and self-limiting medical conditions, procedures, tests, surgeries, and self-injections.
  • Assist with coordination of patient care, including scheduling and preparing patients for appointments and procedures.
  • Participate in population-based care outreach activities, including health maintenance screening as directed by clinicians.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • Practical Nurse License (Washington) within 6 months of hire or Compact License: Practical Nurse within 6 months of hire.
  • Practical Nurse License (Oregon) within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical nursing skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting, preferably in pediatric or family practice.
  • IV therapy experience or recent certification.
  • Familiarity with documenting in electronic medical record systems.
