Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting research projects that aim to understand how diet, genetics, and environmental factors affect the transport and toxicity of metal nutrients, including iron and copper, using cultured cells and animal models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct research projects under the supervision of the Principal Investigator
  • Develop and implement experimental protocols for cultured cells and animal models
  • Collect and analyze data using statistical methods
  • Present research findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Supervise lab personnel and contribute to a collaborative research environment
Requirements
  • Advanced terminal degree (Ph.D., MD, or DVM) in pharmacology, toxicology, chemistry, biology, oncology, neuroscience, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in using computer-based tools (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Extensive experience in statistical analyses (ANOVA, regression, etc.)
  • Extensive experience working with rodents (mice or rats) and cultured cell models
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Experience with molecular techniques (cloning, mutagenesis, PCR, etc.)
