Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to current and future research projects in mathematical analysis.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in at least one of the following areas: ergodic theory, dynamical systems, harmonic analysis, partial differential equations, or mathematical physics.
The primary role of the position will be to assist in and contribute to research projects by UML faculty in these areas, as well as work on independent research.
The term of appointment is for two years, contingent upon funding.
The postdoc will not be required to teach, but may be assigned teaching appointments for additional pay, subject to availability.
Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned PhD in Mathematics by the time of the appointment
Desirable Skills:
- Proven research record in at least one of the following areas: ergodic theory, dynamical systems, harmonic analysis, partial differential equations, or mathematical physics
- Ability to work as a team player
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
