Senior Landscape Architect Opportunity

Charles P. Johnson & Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Landscape Architect to join our Planning Division in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site planning and landscape architectural design, with a minimum of 8 years of experience. They will be responsible for working on a wide range of projects, including residential development, mixed-use, commercial, and institutional projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of layouts, grading plans, landscape, recreation, and forest conservation plans
  • Regular meetings with clients and agencies
  • Design development and review process
  • Knowledge of local Suburban Maryland agencies and review processes

The successful candidate will be a team player, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage budgets, billing, and client relationships. Experience in Montgomery, Prince George's, and Charles County, Maryland is ideal, but not required.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about landscape architecture and has a strong portfolio that showcases their skills and experience.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture (PLA/RLA required)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in site planning and landscape architectural design
  • Graphic design presentation skills
  • Ability to coordinate with other engineers, subconsultants, and manage clients
  • Experience in grading and preparation of grading plans
