Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wound and Ostomy Certified Nurse to join our team at ECHN. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert care and support to patients with wound, skin, ostomy, and continence needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' conditions related to wound/skin and ostomy/continence needs.
  • Develop and revise individualized plans of care as indicated by assessment and patient response to treatment.
  • Provide direct care to patients with wounds, ostomies, drainage tubes, and incontinence in a timely manner.
  • Document wound/skin and ostomy/continence issues according to the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to maintain current knowledge and competence in wound management, skin care, and incontinence care.
  • Organize and coordinate a wound and skin resource liaison team to provide expertise and support to staff on wound and skin issues.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and hold a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.
  • Certification in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Care/Enterostomal Therapy Nursing is required.
  • Two to three years or more of progressive experience in clinical practice in the medical/surgical area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN in nursing required. MSN in Nursing preferred.
  • Completion of accredited coursework in conservative sharp wound debridement and successful completion of 10 hours of supervision by a surgeon preferred.
