POSITION SUMMARY:

The Medium Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of personnel and cargo across various routes, adhering to specified requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drives vehicles equipped with trailers to deliver goods and personnel to designated locations, both locally and at greater distances.
  • Ensures proper loading and securing of cargo, complying with all regulatory standards and vehicle capabilities.
  • Conducts routine inspections and maintenance on assigned vehicles, including tow vehicles and trailers.
  • Completes additional tasks as directed in line with Mission Support Requirements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand detailed instructions and arrive at pick-up or drop-off locations punctually.
  • Navigates effectively using GPS technology or traditional methods such as road maps and military grid systems.
  • Operates the vehicle safely across diverse road conditions, including unpaved and challenging terrains.
  • Utilizes mobile radio communication frequently during operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with standard military terminology and radio communication protocols.
  • Possession of a valid Class D Chauffeur's License or higher is mandatory.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 12 months driving experience with a Class D Chauffeur's License or higher.
  • Advanced knowledge of military terminology and radio communication procedures.
  • Capability to obtain a secret security clearance is desirable.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to travel independently within the continental United States and internationally.
  • Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening and will be subject to random testing thereafter.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, maintain good physical health, and work outdoors is required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
  • Must be available for both day and night shifts.
