POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medium Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of personnel and cargo across various routes, adhering to specified requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drives vehicles equipped with trailers to deliver goods and personnel to designated locations, both locally and at greater distances.
- Ensures proper loading and securing of cargo, complying with all regulatory standards and vehicle capabilities.
- Conducts routine inspections and maintenance on assigned vehicles, including tow vehicles and trailers.
- Completes additional tasks as directed in line with Mission Support Requirements.
- Demonstrates the ability to understand detailed instructions and arrive at pick-up or drop-off locations punctually.
- Navigates effectively using GPS technology or traditional methods such as road maps and military grid systems.
- Operates the vehicle safely across diverse road conditions, including unpaved and challenging terrains.
- Utilizes mobile radio communication frequently during operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Familiarity with standard military terminology and radio communication protocols.
- Possession of a valid Class D Chauffeur's License or higher is mandatory.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 12 months driving experience with a Class D Chauffeur's License or higher.
- Advanced knowledge of military terminology and radio communication procedures.
- Capability to obtain a secret security clearance is desirable.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to travel independently within the continental United States and internationally.
- Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening and will be subject to random testing thereafter.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, maintain good physical health, and work outdoors is required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
- Must be available for both day and night shifts.
