As a key member of the Stronger Consulting team, the Regional Director of Special Education and Student Services will play a critical role in leading the development and implementation of special education programs and services across the organization. This position will be responsible for coordinating special education initiatives, providing leadership to the special education team, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy and Program Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of special education strategies and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership and guidance to the special education team, including program specialists, school psychologists, and related service providers.
- Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and California special education law.
- Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration with school leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of special education services.
- Professional Development: Coordinate and facilitate professional development opportunities for special education staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality services.
- Education: Master's degree in Special Education or related field, with a California Education Specialist Credential and CLAD certification.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in special education program leadership, with a strong background in charter school operations.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, as well as experience with IEP development and implementation.
