Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Services Intern to join our team at The GEO Group. As a key member of our therapeutic program, you will provide vital support to resident offenders and their families, promoting healing and rehabilitation through evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities
  • Under direct supervision, facilitate family program activities, including process groups, therapeutic community meetings, life skills seminars, and individual and group counseling sessions.
  • Conduct initial intake sessions with new inmates, orient them about program requirements, review their criminal file, and establish a preliminary treatment plan.
  • Develop and maintain clinical charts for assigned inmate caseload, ensuring all documentation meets established deadlines and program policies.
  • Participate in data compilation and program reporting functions, as well as staff meetings, seminars, and workshops.
Qualifications
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Knowledge of addictions or mental health counseling preferred.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in software commonly used by the department.
Compensation

Estimated annual salary: $40,000-$50,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
