We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Facility Coder to join our team at Confluence Health. As a key member of our coding department, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records, extracting data, and applying accurate diagnoses and procedure codes for billing, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Coding and Data Analysis: Review medical records to extract data and apply accurate diagnoses and procedure codes for billing, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Coding Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of ICD-10CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines and regulations.
- Electronic Encoder Application: Utilize an electronic encoder application to assign codes in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Coding Audits and Rebilling: Assist with coding audits from payors and RAC audits, and review and adjust coding for Part A/B rebilling.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with clinical staff to resolve coding issues and related problems, and provide feedback to providers using authorized methods.
- Coding Certification: Possess one of the following coding certifications: CPC, CIC, COC from American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT from American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
- Experience and Education: Minimum 1 year coding experience or equivalent education/experience, and a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Possess basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and word processing, and experience with EPIC EHR and Nuance Clintegrity encoder system.
