Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facility Coder to join our team at Confluence Health. As a key member of our coding department, you will be responsible for reviewing medical records, extracting data, and applying accurate diagnoses and procedure codes for billing, reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coding inpatient, ambulatory, observation, and emergency department records, including charge capture and medication administration.
  • Assigning ICD-10CM/PCS, CPT, modifiers, and HCPCS codes in accordance with coding guidelines and hospital policy.
  • Understanding and applying DRG's, MC's, and CC's for inpatient facility coding.
  • Reviewing and adjusting coding for Part A/B rebilling and payor audits.
  • Collaborating with clinical staff to resolve coding issues and related problems.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One of the following coding certifications: CPC, CIC, COC from AAPC or CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT from AHIMA.
  • Minimum 1 year coding experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, medical terminology, and insurance billing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EPIC EHR and Nuance Clintegrity encoder system.
  • Second coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
