Lead Plumbing Technician

Primary Objective:

Under general oversight, ensure the effective flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing piping systems, fittings, and plumbing fixtures across the district. Uphold and guarantee the safe operation of all plumbing infrastructures within district facilities.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

High school diploma or equivalent Valid Texas journeyman plumber license Current Texas driver's license

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient in plumbing repair, maintenance, and installation methods Familiarity with plumbing regulations Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation Competence in performing mathematical calculations Capability to identify and resolve plumbing issues Proficient in using hand and power tools

Experience Required:

Minimum of five years in the plumbing industry

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, install, maintain, and conduct pressure tests on all piping, fittings, and fixtures related to heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems in accordance with specifications and plumbing regulations Identify sources of plumbing failures and perform repairs as indicated or as per work orders Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system components, including sinks, toilets, water heaters, and water softeners Receive and complete work orders efficiently Select materials and hardware, providing estimates for time and materials Maintain accurate records of materials and labor utilized Manage inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and supplies Inspect completed jobs to ensure cleanliness and compliance Collaborate with building principals and supervisors to finalize projects Identify necessary repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment through established inspection protocols Respond to urgent calls as required Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Safety Protocols:

Conduct preventive maintenance on tools and equipment Operate tools and equipment following established safety guidelines Ensure all equipment is in safe working condition Adhere to established safety procedures and techniques for job duties, including lifting and climbing Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly report unresolvable issues to the supervisor

The physical demands of this position require the employee to successfully perform essential job functions. While executing job responsibilities, the employee must stand, move throughout the facility, and communicate verbally and electronically. Utilize hands and fingers to operate tools. Must be able to reach with arms and hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and drive. Must be capable of lifting or exerting force up to 100 pounds Specific vision abilities are necessary for this role Must be able to manage environmental factors associated with this position, including moderate to high noise levels Handle moving mechanical parts and equipment Exposure to airborne fumes and particles Manage outdoor weather conditions

Equipment Utilized:

Sewer machine, pro press, gas tite, threading machine, cutting torch, turbo torch, gas testing equipment, and various hand tools
