Job Summary

Micron Technology is seeking a skilled Chemist to join our team in the Boise Corporate Labs. As a Chemist, you will be responsible for providing analytical support for Micron manufacturing, facilities groups, and manufacturing support. You will work with groundbreaking instrumentation and techniques to deliver engineering customers chemistry and materials analysis solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain training proficiency on all applicable safety, lab procedure, security, and annual quality related training.
  • Strict adherence to all safety/emergency procedures included in the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
  • Comfort working in Lab and cleanroom Fab settings.
  • Independently leads and/or performs routine and sophisticated operations and maintenance on equipment.
  • Conduct experiments and data analysis to ensure quality of outgoing results data.
  • Candidate must be comfortable performing in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and must possess the proficiency and desire to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic technical environment.
  • Regular writing, accurate documentation, verbal communication, and presentation of results to customers and vendors.
  • Handling other activities related to the position when required by laboratory leadership.

  • Collaborate with customers to see opportunities to improve processes and experiments.
  • Regular preparation of updates and reports for management.
  • May also include Lab team leadership, resource management, and team performance management.
Requirements
  • BS in Chemistry or other relevant science with applicable experience is required.
  • MS or PhD or equivalent experience or equivalent industry experience in Chemistry preferred.
  • Experience or strong familiarity with the following subject areas is required: ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS, Ion Chromatography, HPLC and/or LCMS; GC and GCMS, Molecular spectroscopy: FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, RAMAN.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Familiarity with LIMS systems.
  • Written and verbal communication skills; Excellent customer service skills.
  • Shift flexibility depending upon business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Semiconductor industry lab experience.
  • Project, vendor, and instrumentation/equipment management.
  • Statistics, proficiency with data reduction and acquisition software packages (data science).
  • Lab team leadership and performance management.
  • ISO 17025 audit experience.
