This role involves maintaining accurate records within a computerized inventory management system and overseeing the stock of parts and equipment. The objective is to meet the demands of the mechanics efficiently, which may involve moderate physical activity, including lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense required replacement parts to mechanics, removing items from inventory for repair orders.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments from vendors, confirming part numbers, quantities, and pricing accuracy.
  • Tag, stock, and distribute parts to technicians in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Generate purchase orders for the acquisition of parts and equipment.
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts and perform physical inventory audits.
  • Analyze and resolve discrepancies in inventory reports.
  • Process warranty claims and manage returns of parts and cores, ensuring proper tracking of credits.
  • Compile inventory data and present findings to management to facilitate informed decision-making regarding restocking needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stockroom, performing routine housekeeping tasks in the parts area and shop.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of inventory management best practices.
  • Proficient in utilizing parts manuals and manufacturer specifications.
  • Competent in computer operations with solid data entry capabilities.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel (experience with statistics and pivot tables is advantageous), Access, and Word.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle components, maintenance, and repair processes.

Working Conditions:

  • Must have no more than three moving violations in the past two years.
  • No DUI or OVI offenses within the last five years, or two within the last ten years.
  • Potential exposure to high-traffic environments and confined driving spaces.
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste may occur.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver's license required, if applicable.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment assessments is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in reading and speaking English is essential.
