As a Disabilities/Mental Health Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all children in our Head Start & Pre-K program receive the support they need to thrive. You will collaborate with families, educators, and community partners to assess children's needs, develop individualized plans, and monitor progress.

Responsibilities
  • Disabilities:
    • Partner with Community Organizations, Education Staff, Coordinators, families, and children to assess and screen for developmental needs within the program.
    • Build strong relationships with families and teaching staff to ensure that all children's and family's unique needs are addressed effectively.
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of IEP and IFSP plans and guide education staff in their successful implementation within the classroom setting.
  • Mental Health:
    • Coordinate and oversee contracts with local mental health providers to deliver services, and develop educational materials tailored to specific areas of expertise.
    • Provide comprehensive training to staff and parents on relevant mental health topics, conduct regular classroom visits, and ensure ongoing compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working within a Head Start or Early Head Start program.
