Responsibilities- Monitor and assess patients with cardiac conditions using telemetry equipment, tracking heart rhythms and vital signs to detect any abnormalities or changes.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring proper dosages and patient safety.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient status, initiating interventions such as administering medications, providing oxygen therapy, or notifying the physician.
- Perform regular patient assessments, documenting changes in condition, symptoms, and responses to treatments in electronic health records (EHR).
- Educate patients and their families on cardiac care, including post-discharge instructions, medication management, and lifestyle changes to support heart health.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Assist in preparing patients for cardiac procedures, ensuring they understand the process and are ready for surgery or interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of telemetry monitoring, assessments, and interventions in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment when handling medical equipment and providing care.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, fostering a compassionate and patient-centered care environment.
- Current RN state license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a telemetry or cardiac care setting.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and telemetry monitoring.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple patients and responding to changes in condition.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
