Physician Specialist for Disability Evaluation

The New York City Fire Pension Fund is seeking a highly skilled Physician Specialist to join its Sub-Chapter II Medical Board. As a board-certified ENT, Pulmonologist, or Psychiatrist, you will play a critical role in evaluating medical evidence to determine eligibility for disability benefits under The New York City Administrative Code.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine and evaluate medical evidence to determine eligibility for disability benefits
- Interview and examine members of the fund who apply for Disability Retirement
- Prepare medical reports summarizing findings and recommendations
- Review the work of other examiners
Requirements:
- Board certification in ENT, Pulmonology, or Psychiatry
- Licensure in New York State
- Three years of experience as a Disability Evaluation Specialist or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of federal/NY State/NYC laws and regulations
- Knowledge of occupational medicine
- Ability to summarize, analyze, synthesize, and interpret complex medical data
