Job Overview:

Idaho Power Company is seeking a temporary Tree Trimmer to become a vital part of our Planning, Engineering, and Construction team. This role is essential in our mission to deliver sustainable energy solutions.


Role Responsibilities:

The Tree Trimmer will execute advanced utility vegetation management tasks as part of our comprehensive vegetation management program. Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing company-owned equipment to prune trees near energized power lines and on private properties.
  • Providing guidance and training to the Vegetation Management Groundman.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of: Industry standards for tree trimming near electrical infrastructure, tree biology, and safety protocols.
  • Skills in: Effective communication, computer literacy, and hands-on tree pruning and removal.
  • Ability to: Work in physically demanding conditions, maintain accurate records, and operate various tools and equipment safely.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants should have:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience, including two years in arboriculture or tree trimming.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in utility vegetation management and relevant certifications are advantageous.


Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be capable of performing tasks that require physical endurance, including lifting and operating equipment in diverse weather conditions.


Additional Information:

This position involves teamwork and may require travel. Compliance with safety regulations is mandatory.
