Comprehensive Contract Administrator for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is seeking an accomplished Comprehensive Contract Administrator to provide complex legal and administrative support. This crucial role manages all contract review processes and negotiations, oversees insurance claim submissions and investigations, maintains a broad base of legal office functions, and assumes a project management role to solve issues and achieve favorable outcomes. As a key member of the legal team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing contract administration, creating and providing training on contract development and submission, and assisting with the modification of contract forms and training materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee contract administration, including contract review, editing, analysis, execution, and maintenance of contract databases.
  • Create and provide training on contract development and submission processes.
  • Assist with the modification of contract forms and training materials.
  • Carry out assignments and projects as determined by the General Counsel.
  • Provide legal and administrative support to the General Counsel and legal team.
  • Assist with the development and administration of department budgets.
  • Assist with Board grievance proceedings, including scheduling, drafting notices, and managing hearings.
  • Review and catalog injury and accident reports, investigate incidents as needed, and manage insurance claim processes.

This role requires a strong working knowledge of legal terminology, contract formulation principles, and refined computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications. The ideal candidate will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be well-organized, and have the ability to multitask and use problem-solving skills to achieve objectives. The Comprehensive Contract Administrator will also be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures, and law within assigned areas of responsibility.

Requirements:
  • Minimum: Graduation from a trade school or community college, or university, with a Paralegal or Bachelor's degree PLUS five years' related work experience in a law firm, legal, procurement, or other related department that includes two years' experience working with contracts.
  • Desirable: Bachelor's degree in a related field PLUS seven years' related work experience in a law firm, legal, procurement, or other department that includes five years' working with contracts and two years' with state/federal government contracts/bids.

Physical Work Demands:
