Job Summary

As an Electrical Systems Specialist at Corewell Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical systems. This position requires a high level of knowledge and expertise in electrical distribution systems, electrical devices, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical System Maintenance: Regularly inspect and evaluate electrical equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and safely. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, and maintain records of equipment status and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Respond promptly to electrical trouble calls and inspect and repair varied electrical systems/equipment, including lights, power distribution, fan motors, and other electrical components.
  • Electrical System Installation: Install, modify, and repair electrical systems, including conduits, junction switches, outlet boxes, and switchboards, using appropriate tools and special equipment.
  • Blueprint and Schematic Analysis: Study blueprints and schematics to determine methods, materials, personnel, and equipment needed to complete modifications to the electrical system.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with external electrical service providers, obtain permits as required, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent, and 3-5 years of relevant experience in electrical systems maintenance and repair, or completion of a three to four-year electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems, electrical devices, and control systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license and any required electrical licenses or certifications.
