We are seeking a highly skilled and physically fit individual to join our team as a Utility Worker I. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing water and sewer lines and related system components.

The successful candidate will be responsible for locating manholes, service connections, valves, and other utilities, as well as assisting with the installation of new sewer taps. They will also clear debris from manholes, water and sewer lines, sewer stream crossings, easements, valve boxes, etc.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in construction, infrastructure maintenance, or a related field. They must also possess a valid driver's license and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs water and sewer lines and related system components
  • Locates manholes, service connections, valves, and other utilities
  • Assists with the installation of new sewer taps
  • Clears debris from manholes, water and sewer lines, sewer stream crossings, easements, valve boxes, etc.
  • Performs confined space entries into permit required confined spaces as needed
  • Cleans manholes and lines
  • Changes out sewer rings and lids on manholes, etc.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in construction, infrastructure maintenance, or a related field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors in all weather conditions. They must also be able to lift, carry, push, and pull moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds) and occasionally heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds).
