Job Title: Electronics Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Electronics Systems Engineer to join our team at Penn State University. As a key member of our Electronics Systems Department, you will be responsible for designing and developing custom circuit boards and power electronics to support system functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom circuit boards and power electronics to support system functions
  • Develop software/firmware that is tightly interfaced to hardware in an embedded system
  • Debug and test hardware, software, and firmware using unit integration and hardware-in-the-loop system tests
  • Contribute to documents, designs, and specifications
  • Proactively seek professional development opportunities
  • Presentation to peers, management, sponsors, and stakeholders
  • Support other members of the team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits and components
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Electronics Test equipment - Oscilloscopes, Multi-meters, Function generators

Preferred Experience:

  • Specific domain knowledge in C/C++
  • Experience in MATLAB, LabVIEW, VHDL, and/or Verilog
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Skills specific to the Xilinx Vivado Development tools and Xilinx System on Module
