Position Summary:
As a Speech-Language Therapist at KIPP NYC Public Schools, you will be instrumental in delivering essential speech and language therapy services to students requiring support. This role provides an opportunity to positively impact student development through the application of research-based methodologies across various educational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group speech-language therapy in accordance with students' IEP requirements, utilizing both in-person and virtual formats.
  • Employ innovative and flexible therapeutic techniques grounded in evidence-based practices.
  • Identify and address student needs through a structured Response to Intervention framework.
  • Conduct initial speech and language evaluations for early learners.
  • Support a diverse student population, catering to various linguistic backgrounds and age groups.
  • Facilitate professional development workshops and work collaboratively with other educational staff.
  • Mentor speech-language pathologists regarding IEP-related therapy practices.
  • Prepare IEP documentation, perform assessments, and offer consultative support.
  • Oversee graduate student interns and communicate with families about student progress.
  • Engage in school-based teams and contribute actively to the educational community.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct screenings and provide assistance for kindergarten and first-grade students.
  • Deliver guided reading sessions and collaborate with fellow therapists and educators.
  • Participate in team meetings and adhere to the academic calendar.
  • Ensure prompt communication and meet documentation deadlines.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized educational space.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with K-8 student populations.
  • Valid New York State certification and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to mission-driven education.
  • Proven track record of enhancing student performance outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive salary range of $69,440 - $142,270, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, parental leave, and professional development funding.
