Speech-Language Pathologist for Elementary Education

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the full school year. This position involves working with K-5 students for 15 hours per week, providing high-quality speech and language therapy services.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to K-5 students with speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication needs in the classroom.
  • Monitor and document students' progress towards therapy goals and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on speech and language goals for students with special education needs.
  • Educate and support teachers and parents on strategies to improve communication skills in students.
  • Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
Requirements:
  • Valid New York State license and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Proven experience working with elementary school students, preferably in a K-5 setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate speech and language therapy techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive therapy environment.
  • Proficiency in using technology for therapy and documentation purposes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Education:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
