Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Technician to oversee the assembly and testing of subsea production control systems and drilling control units. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Expertise: Interpret schematics, P&IDs, and written instructions to effectively assemble and operate equipment.
  • System Assembly: Assemble and test subsea production control systems and drilling control hardware in accordance with industry specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Prioritize safety in all operational activities and participate in safety observation programs.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality processes and procedures throughout all tasks.
  • Maintenance Operations: Conduct maintenance and operational tasks on rental equipment both onshore and offshore.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise technician crews during offsite operations as necessary.
  • Fluid Analysis: Perform fluid analysis on various control fluids and chemicals.
  • Diagnostics: Execute both High Voltage and Low Voltage terminations and diagnostics.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and communicate design discrepancies and suggest improvements.
  • Documentation: Complete essential documentation including progress reports, service tickets, and test reports.
  • Client Liaison: Engage with clients during operations, services, and testing phases.
  • Procedure Preparation: Develop test procedures and maintenance manuals in line with industry standards.
  • Travel Requirements: Domestic and international travel may be necessary.
  • Diagnostics Testing: Conduct various diagnostic tests on electrical conductors and fiber optic cables.
  • Installation: Install Fiber Optic Connection end terminations.
Qualifications:
  • Over 10 years of experience in assembly, operations, and testing of subsea control systems.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role for offshore service technicians.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical training in electrical systems is preferred.
  • Expertise in assembly and testing of Electro-Hydraulic Power and Control units.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings and procedures.
  • Offshore safety certification is mandatory.
  • Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office software.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multifunctional teams.
  • Ability to balance customer expectations with company capabilities.
  • High ethical standards and a strong reputation in the industry.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical operations and components.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must meet physical demands typical of an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to pass an Offshore fit for duty physical examination.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Use of safety glasses and other PPE as required in a manufacturing setting.
  • Additional PPE may be necessary for certain offshore operations.
